In southern my country, the air is humid, which is called hydrogen evolution corrosion in chemistry. Moisture is one of the substances that makes iron easy to rust. Only when the oxygen in the air is dissolved in When in water, oxygen reacts with iron in a water environment to produce something called iron oxide, which is rust. Rust is a brown-red substance that is not as hard as iron and falls off easily. When a piece of iron is completely rusted, its volume can expand eight times. If the rust is not removed, this spongy rust is particularly easy to absorb moisture and will accelerate the corrosion of stainless steel elbows. Therefore, due to the humid climate in southern my country, heavy-duty anti-corrosion must be used for stainless steel elbows.
In the anti-corrosion of stainless steel elbows, if the corrosion of the pipe is relatively thick, first tap gently with a hammer to make the rust layer fall off. When the rust layer is not thick, wipe the surface with a wire brush, steel cloth or coarse emery cloth until the original color of the pipe is exposed, and then wipe it clean with a cotton gauze tip. This method is only suitable for sporadic and scattered rust situations, and is not suitable for large areas.
